After a delayed start, 9Round Fitness is opening just in time to shed all of those holiday cookies.

The gym is one of the newest franchises in Midtown Row. It offers a quick workout to members with nine-trainer-led exercise stations that create a 30-minute workout with active rest time between each station.

There are also no scheduled classes, so members can come and go as they please.

The gym was expected to open in October but construction pushed back the opening date, said co-owner Sean Joslin.

“Certainly opening right before Christmas will provide a little bit of challenge for us but once you have a new year there will be plenty of people looking to workout and meet their resolutions,” Joslin said.

Fitness buffs in Williamsburg can look forward to two events in the next week celebrating the gym’s grand opening on Monday.

From 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, the gym will host an open house complete with food, champagne and, of course, boxing gloves.

The gloves and wraps are provided to members who have signed up before the gym’s opening day.

So far, there have been 120 new members that have taken advantage of the gym’s special offer that includes a discounted price of a $25 joining fee which will be $199 after Monday.

Membership also includes a $98 monthly fee which will remain the same after Monday, Joslin said.

On Monday, the gym will open at 6:30 a.m. and have a ribbon cutting at 1:30 p.m.

Joslin said he looks forward to establishing 9Round in Williamsburg as Midtown continues to grow.

“As it develops across the street with all the apartments, it will lend more benefits to our business,” he said. “We’re just really happy to be opening and working with this community.”
