A seasonal tradition is returning albeit in a new venue.

The Nutcracker, as performed by Virginia Regional Ballet, will return to Hampton Roads Sunday. The performance will make its debut in the Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News.

The annual performance was hosted by William & Mary’s Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall for more than 30 years, according to VRB’s Facebook page. Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall is currently closed for renovations.

The Nutcracker is the ballet’s signature performance each year. The cast is listed on the ballet’s website.

There will be two performance of the show: one at 3 p.m. and another at 7:30. Tickets are still available for both performances.

The VRB Academy, which instructs young and aspiring dancers and prepares them to eventually join the VRB, will perform School Shows of The Nutcracker on Dec. 10 and 11 at the Kimball Theatre in Merchants Square.
