If your go-to place for french fries or McGriddles is the McDonald’s on Richmond Road, you might want to find somewhere else for the next month.

The eatery at 1620 Richmond Road, next to America’s Best Inn and Red Hot & Blue Bar-B-Que, was closed for renovations on Monday, said operations manager Denise Kenney. The location will remain closed while a series of updates takes place.

Kenney said the location will undergo a major remodel that will update the exterior and interior of the store.

“It was just time,” Kenney said. “It needed it.”

The location plans to reopen by Dec. 19, but the date is not definite. Signs will be posted out front and the store’s reader board will be updated with re-opening information as the date gets closer.

McDonald’s corporate office did not immediately respond for comment.
