VIRGINIA BEACH — In March, the Virginia General Assembly voted to join other states with a regulated medical cannabis industry.
With that development, parents might be more likely to talk out in the open about how cannabis helps — or could help — their children’s medical conditions, such as cancer, epilepsy, mental illness, and autoimmune diseases.
The general public is invited to an open conversation about medical cannabis and children Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at New Realm Brewery in Virginia Beach.
Professionals will be on hand to guide the conversation, along with folks from Virginia NORML and Cannabis Commonwealth, who will provide the latest on their lobbying efforts to expand Virginia’s cannabis laws, according to a news release.

This will be the first meeting of an on-going support group for parents who believe that medical cannabis may be the answer for their children’s medical needs.
While the free event is geared toward parents, anyone interested in medical cannabis is encouraged to attend and be part of the conversation.
