Police made an arrest Friday night in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in York County in October.

Investigators from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office arrested Alexander Michael Crosby, 25, of Barhamsville at 10:18 p.m Friday, spokeswoman Shelley Ward said.

He was taken to the Henrico Jail East where he is being held without bond, according to jail records.

Crosby is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after police say he struck and killed Brian L. Utne Oct. 25.

Utne, 50, was riding his bicycle near the corner of Yorkville Road and Lakeside Drive when he was struck by a grey Ford pickup, authorities said.  He was taken to Riverside Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries.

After his death, members of the Historic Triangle Bicycle Advisory Committee had a 25-mile memorial ride and placed a “ghost bike” at the scene of the crash.

“We continue to send our thoughts and prayers to the Utne family,” Ward said in an email.
