If you go to any of these offices the 19th, you’ll find yourself driving back home

York County government offices and other services will be closed Oct. 19 in celebration of Yorktown Day.

Yorktown Day includes ceremonies, a parade, fifes and drums performances and special programs commemorate the anniversary of America’s Revolutionary War victory at Yorktown.

York County offices, York-Poquoson Social Services, York County Public Libraries and Waste Management Center offices will all be closed on Yorktown Day.

Curbside garbage and recycling collection will continue as scheduled.

The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Composting Facility, drop-off centers for garbage and recycling, garbage transfer station, York County Courthouse and the Virginia Cooperative Extension office will remain open.
