Hurricane Michael was downgraded to a tropical storm as it blew through the area. Power outages seem to be the biggest issue right now, causing many places to close or open late.
Closings
Norfolk Public Schools will be closed Friday. This includes all after school activities and programs.
The Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center is closed Friday as crews assess the damage done by Tropical Storm Michael.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools will also be closed Friday. This includes all after school activities and programs.
Opening late
Virginia Beach City Offices will be on a 4-Hour delay because of a power outage at Municipal Center, other facilities. Employees should report to their supervisors for additional instructions.
Virginia Beach Public Libraries will open at noon Friday. Joint-Use Libraries will follow TCC’s schedule and be open regular hours.
