VIRGINIA BEACH — Southside Daily has partnered with the city’s police department and the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers to raise awareness about persons of interest in the city.
Crime Solvers is a nonprofit organization that accepts completely anonymous tips from residents about criminal activity. Information from tipsters is shared with police, but remains completely anonymous — no identifying information of sources is ever disclosed and the anonymity of tipsters is protected by state law.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about any of these people to contact Virginia Beach Crime Solvers.
Tipsters could also be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
Here’s this week’s list:
On Sept. 22, the man pictured above went to the Walmart at Salem Crossing. Police said he placed a drone, air compressor, and two Roomba vacuums in a cart and pushed it out of the store without paying. He left the area in red sedan with Virginia temporary plates, police said.
On Sept. 22, the four pictured above went to the TJ Maxx store on Virginia Beach Boulevard. They were in the store for about 20 minutes, during that time police said they grabbed purses and clothing items, then ran out of the store without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at more than $2,000, police said.
On Sept. 28, police said the man pictured above went to the Hobby Lobby on Virginia Beach Boulevard. He selected a couple items, went to the register to pay, and then handed the cashier a counterfeit $100 bill, police said. When confronted by the store’s manager, the suspect grabbed the bill and ran out of the store.
On Sept. 21, police said the man pictured above was caught in the female changing rooms at JC Penney inside Lynnhaven Mall. The victim noticed the suspect was attempting to film her by placing his phone under the door, police said. The victim attempted to chase the suspect but he was able to get away. The suspect left in the red two-door vehicle pictured above.
