Here’s how you can sign up for the 2018 Great Southeast ShakeOut

The Great SouthEast Shakeout is a regional opportunity to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes, according to shakeout.org.

They say most of the southeast is prone to earthquakes and they want everyone to be as prepared as possible.

On Oct. 18 at 10:18 a.m., millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover and Hold On during the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills.

The ShakeOut has also been organized to encourage you, your community, your school, or your organization to review and update emergency preparedness plans and supplies, and to secure your space in order to prevent damage and injuries.

In 2017 in Virginia there were 1,043,889 participants, according to their website.

So far there are 694,238 participants in Virginia and more than 1.2 million in the Southeast registered this year.
