This October, get spooked on the water with James City County’s new haunted river cruise of Jamestown Island.

Jamestown Discovery Boat Tours has started a new partnership with the Original Ghost tour company this year, according to James City County’s website. Working together, the two companies have created a new ghostly attraction to offer locals.

The cruise is the only river-based ghost tour on the James, the county said. Guests will get to hear stories of strange occurrences and hear of the spirits that haunt America’s oldest permanent English settlement.

Tours will be offered on select evenings through the first weekend of November with a variety of times.

The one-hour cruise will begin at the James City County marina, 2054 Jamestown Road. Alcohol is permitted, but guests cannot bring hard coolers. Bug spray is recommended.

Reservations must be made in advance, and tickets are non-refundable.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children 7 to 12 and $10 for children 3 to 6. If a tour is not sold out, limited tickets will be available at the tour location.
