VIRGINIA BEACH — Although Hurricane Florence avoided hitting Hampton Roads, parts of North Carolina experienced catastrophic flooding in the wake of the storm.
There are still sites in the Southside where you can drop off emergency supplies for people affected by the storm:
- Analogue Lab + Studio in Ghent is accepting Hurricane Florence relief supplies on behalf of the Tidewater Solidarity Collective.
- A groups of residents have trucks parked in the parking lot in front of Market Square Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. They are accepting relief supplies between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday.
- Haynes Furniture on Virginia Beach Boulevard is collecting items on behalf of Operation Blessing. Representatives will be there until 6 p.m. Monday.

Donation centers are asking for these high-priority items: water, pop-top canned food, flashlights, lanterns, batteries, anti-fungal spray, first-aid supplies, gloves, goggles, toiletries, baby supplies, clothing, pet supplies, sleeping bags, electrical tape, generators, candles, lighters, solar lights, hand sanitizer and camping gear.
