Uber, Lyft’s main competitor, has encouraged its drivers to make safety a priority as the storm approaches.
“Due to Hurricane Florence, we strongly advise our riders, driver-partners, and Uber Eats partners to make safety a priority as the storm approaches. We encourage all to monitor local weather updates, adhere to state and local emergency procedures, and stay off the roads during extreme inclement weather,” the company said in a statement on their blog.
Uber suspended all Uber Eats operations in Hampton Roads on Tuesday, according to Uber representative Nicholas Zabriskie.
