Gas prices in Virginia are unchanged this week, although they remain significantly higher than last year, according to AAA Tidewater Virginia.
The average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Virginia is $2.60, which is 45 cents higher than at this time last year.
Virginia remains well below the national average of $2.84, which is 2 cents cheaper than last month, AAA Tidewater Virginia said. However, the national average remains 48 cents above last year’s prices.
“With Labor Day approaching, Virginians could see a slight increase in gas prices, but any jump should not last past the holiday weekend,” said Georjeane Blumling, AAA Tidewater Virginia spokeswoman.
