VIRGINIA BEACH — City crews will begin road improvement repairs and maintenance of London Bridge Road on Sunday.

The work will be from the intersection of Drakesmile Road and Dam Neck Road to International Parkway, according to a news release from the city’s Public Works Department.

The project will include milling, paving and pavement marking work and will be from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on weekdays.  If any weekend work is required, it will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The work is expected to be completed by Sept. 16, according to Public Works.

The project and the milling and paving operation is likely to produce traffic delays, congestion and some construction noise.  Warning signs will be clearly posted advising motorists of lane closures.

Motorists are urged to use alternate traffic routes when possible. All scheduled work is weather permitting.
