VIRGINIA BEACH — The Neptune Festival’s Symphony by the Sea Concert Series is amidst its 8th year, and Thursday, Aug. 9 will be the next opportunity to enjoy
The concert is free and will take place at the 31st Street Park at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Guests are encouraged to come early, as these concerts are well-attended and typically fill the park, according to organizers of the Neptune Festival.
The Thursday concert will feature Symphonicity, Virginia Beach’s all-volunteer resident orchestra.

According to their website, Symphonicity provides performance experience for area musicians and fills a need for low cost, quality concerts in the community. Membership is composed of retired and active symphony players, public school teachers, instructors and graduates of the Armed Forces School of Music, freelance musicians, private instructors and composers, as well as business professionals, homemakers, and select high school students.
The Neptune Festival website suggests bringing a lawn chair or blanket. Although the concert is free, there is an option to purchase VIP tickets in support of Symphonicity.
