The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for all of Hampton Roads, including Williamsburg and James City and York counties.
The watch extends through Tuesday, the agency said. A watch means that conditions may develop that can lead to flash flooding.
More rainfall is expected through tonight and into Tuesday, with multiple rounds of torrential rain possible, according to the weather service’s office in Wakefield.
The agency warns that while areas along creeks and streams are most vulnerable to flash flooding, it can occur in almost any area.
The forecast for the Williambsurg area calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms every day through Sunday. Highs will be in the mid-80s with lows in the 70s.
