Here’s how you can go on a ‘seafari’ with mermaids

VIRGINIA BEACH — The Virginia Aquarium is hosting a new program, Mermaid Seafari, on July 18.

The cruise will be a chance for children and adults to go out onto the waters of Owls Creek and learn more about crucial themes such as water conservation, said Karen Burns, events, special projects and partnerships manager at the aquarium.

Burns said two mermaids will be hosting the lead educational activities for guests to learn more about protecting the water and its underwater habitats.
