Celebrate National Mosquito Awareness Week at BugFest 2018

YORK COUNTY — The Tabb Library will be buzzing next week as York County Mosquito Control celebrates National Mosquito Awareness Week with a day of activities.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  June 30, York County Mosquito Control will host BugFest 2018 at the Tabb Library, 100 Long Green Blvd., according to a release from the county.

The event will feature a bug-themed story time at 11 a.m., insect displays and local experts presenting bug facts. There also will be a scavenger hunt, if weather permits.

Participants include Virginia Cooperative Extension, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, the Old Dominion University tick research team, Colonial Beekeepers, a Hampton University entomologist, and the Butterfly Society of Virginia.
