TripAdvisor names Greater Williamsburg one of America’s most kid-friendly places

Greater Williamsburg has received some national attention as a family-friendly vacation destination.

Williamsburg was recently ranked one of the 20 best destinations for families with children by, according to a press release from the travel website.

The blog, which calls itself “a blog for travelers by travelers,” listed Williamsburg 15th, alongside locations like Washington, D.C. and Boston, Massachusetts.

San Diego took home the top spot on the list.

Greater Williamsburg was added to the list because of “kid-friendly attractions” like Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water County USA.

“Williamsburg is also packed with kid-friendly attractions that help the past come alive,” the release said. “Costumed actors and re-enactments at Colonial Williamsburg invite kids to imagine life in early America.”

Alongside those attractions, TripAdvisor includes Historic Jamestowne, the Williamsburg Winery and York River State Park as top destinations within the area.

Virginia Beach was also named in the release.
