Workshop to teach James City County residents how to avoid scams

Scams, fraud and identity theft can be avoided, and James City County Social Services is going to teach residents how.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, James City County Social Services and James City County Police will conduct a workshop on avoiding scams at the Human Services Center, 5249 Olde Towne Road, according to the county’s website.

Master Police Officer Alan McDowell will give a seminar on the variety of scams and provide tips on how to avoid them.

The workshop is free and open to everyone. To reserve a seat call 757-259-5393.
