Update Tuesday 9 p.m.:

Road work on Jolly Pong Road has finished early, James City County said. The road is now open to thru traffic.

Original story:

Roadwork will close a small section of Jolly Pond Road this upcoming week.

The road will be closed to thru traffic from 8 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Wednesday, James City County said.

The closure is necessary to repair and improve the road near the Jolly Pond dam.

The closure with begin at the “end of state maintenance” sign near the Jolly Pond dam and will continue for 1,000 feet on the county-owned road.

The construction will not block any private or commercial entrances.

Inclement weather may cause delays and extend the closure beyond Wednesday.
