VIRGINIA BEACH — If you’ve had a “ruff” week, “meow” is the time to start looking toward the weekend — and if you like animals, the convention center at the Oceanfront will be hosting the 2018 Virginia Beach Pet Expo on Saturday and Sunday.
It’s free, open to the public, and you can even bring your pet to the event.
The expo will feature “spa treatments” from local groomers, sample pet treats, as well as the latest in furry fashions. For the humans, organizers said that the expo will have pet trainers and representatives from animal welfare organizations to provide information on proper care and maintenance of pets.
The expo runs Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the expo’s website, there will be dozens of vendors as well as an agility demonstration, pet talent and costume shows, along with a pet-owner look-alike contest. This map of the expo will help visitors find their way.
There will also be animals showcased by local nonprofit rescue groups.
