VIRGINIA BEACH — Tourists and city residents will have a new entertainment option this summer as the ViBe Creative District kicks-off it’s new summer concert series Saturday.
“Commonwealth ViBez” is a collaboration between the ViBe Creative District and Commonwealth Brewing.
It’ll take place on the second and fourth Saturdays during June, July, and August in the ViBe Park on Cypress Avenue at 18th Street and will feature bands and beer, as well as food.
“The summer concert series in ViBe Park is our biggest effort to date to provide performing arts exposure in the district,” said Kate Pittman, executive director of the ViBe District. “We are excited to more actively utilize the artist designed stage which was installed late last summer as a public artwork.”
Bands will play on the performing arts stage throughout the day.
Saturday the Tiki Bar Band will play at noon, Nature’s Child at 3:30 p.m., and Caribbean Steel will close from 7-10 p.m.
Commonwealth will have 10 beers on tap and they’ve custom crafted a new beer just for the event: Tiki ViBiz, a Gose style beer with Pink Guava and Blood Orange flavors.
“We are excited to partner with Commonwealth Brewing on a beer garden style event where the public can come enjoy custom brews, including the brand new Tiki ViBez beer created in honor of our partnership. Craft beer is an active and important element of contemporary culinary arts,” Pittman said.
Pop-up vendors are expected and visitors are invited to bring chairs or blankets.
Free parking for the event is available on 18th Street, in the city Lot next to Wareings Gym, on Cypress Avenue in marked lots, and also at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Attendees are advised not to park in lots that belong to private businesses.
