VIRGINIA BEACH — Police say a 31-year-old man is responsible for robbing the same bank twice.

Joshua David Davenport, of of Virginia Beach, is charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of wearing a mask in public.

Authorities say he is responsible for the robbery of BayPort Credit Union in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach on Monday, and the heist at the same bank on May 24.

In both cases, police say Davenport went into the bank and demanded money from a teller — the incident Monday happened at 3:47 p.m., and the one on May 24 at 4:58 p.m.

He allegedly fled with cash in both instances.

Davenport was reported to have fled the scene of the May 24 incident in a smaller model white pickup with a camper shell.

Monday, police said the suspect fled on foot following the robbery. Police later found a “person of interest,” who later was identified as Davenport.
