NORFOLK — Registration is still open for d’Art Center’s first workshop series, which runs from Saturday to June 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 740 Duke St.
Artist Ryan Lytle will be working with participants to build a wolf sculpture to contribute to his installation, The Chase, that will be featured on the Virginian-Pilot fence.
The workshops will be teaching participants how to weave unconventional surfaces and each will be given a portion of the installation to work with.
Once all final portion pieces are completed for the fence, the artwork will be sealed and assembled in time for the annual NEON Festival, according to a NEON District news release.
“We’ve been in the NEON District for over two years now,” said Amanda Bradley, d’Art Center’s communications, marketing, and gallery manager. “We’ve always felt welcomed by the district and we’re always happy to participate in as many NEON events and community projects as we can.”
There is a $20 reservation fee, and those who are interested in participating can sign up here.
A second workshop series will be available from Aug. 4 to Sept. 5.
