Here’s what’s closed, open for Memorial Day in Greater Williamsburg

Schools will be closed and many workers will get an extra day off for the long Memorial Day weekend. Here is the holiday schedule for Williamsburg and James City and York counties.

Government offices

FEDERAL — Closed Monday.

STATE — Closed Monday.

LOCAL:

Williamsburg — Closed Monday.

James City County — Closed Monday.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Service — Closed Monday.

York County — Closed Monday.

York-Poquoson Social Services — Closed Monday.

Schools

Williamsburg-James City County — Closed Monday.

York County — Closed Monday.

Courts

Williamsburg-James City County  — Closed Monday.

York-Poquoson — Closed Monday.

Public libraries

Williamsburg Regional Library — All facilities closed Sunday and Monday.

York County — Closed Monday.

Waste management

James City County — Closed Monday.

York County — Regular schedule (administrative office closed Monday).

Garbage pickup

Williamsburg — Will be delayed one day. Regularly scheduled Monday collection will be picked up on Tuesday, and regularly scheduled Tuesday collection will be picked up on Wednesday.

York County — Regular schedule.

Recycling

Williamsburg — Regular pickup schedule.

James City County — Regular pickup schedule, recycling centers closed Monday.

York County — Regular pickup schedule.

Recreation centers

Williamsburg — Quarterpath Recreation Center closed Monday.

James City County — James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center closed Monday.

Parks

Williamsburg — All city parks open.

James City County — All parks open. Freedom Park store/office closed Monday. Chickahominy Riverfront Park store/office, James City County Marina store/office and Little Creek Reservoir Park store/office open regular hours.

Mail

Post offices closed Monday. No delivery.

ABC stores

Open until 6 p.m. Monday.
