This man allegedly robbed 2 pharmacies in 2 days in 2 cities

NORFOLK — A 51-year-old Norfolk man has been arrested in connection with two robberies here and in Virginia Beach, police said.

Edward D. Speller is charged with two counts of robbery and one count of use a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Norfolk Police said the robberies happened on May 8 at the CVS, 972 East Little Creek Road in Norfolk, and May 9 at the Walgreens, 856 S. Military Highway in Virginia Beach.

Further information on the Norfolk incident was not released.

On May 9, Virginia Beach Police said a man went into the Walgrereens and “used a ruse of purchasing an item.”

Authorities said while the store clerk was processing the purchase, the “man implied he had a weapon and demanded money.”

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk was not injured.
