The votes are in, and Hampton Roads residents have chosen several York County businesses as the region’s best.
Voting has concluded for Coastal Virginia Magazine’s annual Best of Readers Choice Awards, and according to a York County press release, restaurants, art galleries, farmers markets, music venues and more county businesses received accolades.
Winners were selected by area voters, and more than 200,000 votes were cast. Contenders were split into more than 150 categories and voters were limited to one vote per day.
York County’s winners and their categories are below:
- Yorktown Beach: best place to picnic (overall gold)
- Marl Inn: best local bed and breakfast (overall gold)
- Patriot Tours & Provisions: best local outdoor recreational store (overall gold)
- Yorktown Freight Shed: best banquet/event hall (Peninsula gold)
- Yorktown Market Days: best farmers market (Peninsula gold)
- The Gallery at York Hall: Best art gallery (Peninsula gold)
- The Watermen’s Museum: best summer camp (Peninsula gold)
- Hornsby House Inn: best local bed and breakfast (Peninsula gold)
- Yorktown Pub: best lunch (Peninsula gold)
- Riverwalk Landing: best nightlife (Peninsula silver)
- Riverwalk Landing: best place to hear local bands (Peninsula silver)
- American Revolution Museum at Yorktown: best museum (Peninsula silver)
- Viccellio Goldsmith: best local jewelry store (Peninsula silver)
- Carrot Tree Kitchens: best local bakery (Peninsula silver)
- Water Street Grille: best craft/cocktail specialty (Peninsula silver)
- Patriot Tours & Provisions: family-friendly attraction (Peninsula silver)
- Riverwalk Landing: best place to take out-of-towners (Peninsula bronze)
- Riverwalk Landing: best music venue (Peninsula bronze)
- Riverwalk Restaurant: best seafood (Peninsula bronze)
- American Revolution Museum at Yorktown: best attraction (Peninsula bronze)
- Umi Sushi: best Japanese/sushi (Peninsula bronze)
- Water Street Grille: best outdoor/patio dining (Peninsula bronze)
- Yorktown Pub: best nightlife (Peninsula bronze)
Winners will be invited to a best of party July 26 in Norfolk and will be featured in the July issue of the magazine.
FoodaTude and Williams Landscape and Design were previously announced as award winners.
