As tourist season begins, the Virginia Department of Transportation is adding extra boats to the Jamestown-Scotland ferry schedule to accommodate the increased summer traffic.
The extra boats will begin running at 12:40 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays — one hour earlier than in previous years — and 11:40 a..m on Sundays — two hours earlier than during past summers.
The boats will stop running at 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 9:30 p.m. Sundays.
