WILLIAMSBURG — A local supermarket is hiring.
The grocer Aldi is conducting a hiring event for its Williamsburg store from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday (May 15) at the Hilton Garden Inn on Richmond Road.
Both shift manager and store associate positions will be filled. Starting pay for shift managers is $16.85 and $12.35 for store associates. Applicants can apply in person Tuesday.
Potential employees must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or GED and prior retail experience are preferred.
Applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screening and be willing to work any time between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday. They will also need to be able to lift 45 lbs.
Aldi employees who work, on average, more than 25 hours per week are eligible for full health benefits and dental coverage. Employees are also able to enroll in a 401(k) plan.
Aldi is located at 1504 Richmond Road, near the intersection of Richmond and Ironbound roads.
The company operates more than 1,750 stores across the United States and claims to have more than 40 million monthly customers. Aldi was named a National 2017 Top Workplace by Workplace Dynamics, according to the release.
Aldi is also hiring for its two stores in Newport News.
