
Yorktown Market Days is stepping up its game once again with the annual Fitness Market this weekend.
While regular market days offer opportunities to shop local vendors and artists, on Saturday (May 12) guests will have the chance to improve healthy life skills with fitness classes, cooking demonstrations, free information from local wellness vendors and free health screenings, according to a release from York County Parks and Recreation.
The demonstration schedule will run as follows:
- Action Arts Academy USA: 9 to 9:15 a.m.
- Good Time Line Dancing: 9:30 to 9:45 a.m.
- Country Bootleggers: 10 to 10:15 a.m.
- Jazzercise: 10:30 to 10:45 a.m.
- YMCA Zumba: 11 to 11:15 a.m.
- Center Stage Academy: 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.
- In Balance Mobile Yoga: 11:45 a.m. to noon
The fitness market also will give parents the opportunity to register their children for York County Parks and Recreation’s summer camps, including summer youth sports and special interest camps such as the Summer Fun playground program or the Safety Town program for rising kindergarten students.
In addition to the fitness market, the following specially themed markets are planned this season:
- Paws at the River: 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 8.
- Fall Festival: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13.
- Harvest Festival: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10.
- Holiday Open House Weekend: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17.
- Holiday Market and Toyland Parade: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8.
Markets run rain or shine on Saturdays through Oct. 27, with the exception of Oct. 6.
Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, the York-Poquoson Courthouse, the York County Administration Building and other designated public parking lots.
The complimentary Yorktown Trolley is available from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The trolley is wheelchair accessible.
