GLOUCESTER — A Gloucester Point man died early Wednesday when he was hit by a car while walking on U.S. 17, Virginia State Police said.

John Kenneth Green, 32, of the 1900 block of Gloucester Point Drive, was killed on impact shortly before 6 a.m. when a northbound Toyota Camry driven by Lisa Renee Lopez, 31, hit Green as he tried to cross U.S. 17 just south of Main Street, police said.

Lopez was not hurt in the crash, and alcohol was not a factor in the accident, police said.
