Man robbed near Kaplan Arena parking lot, William & Mary police say

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary Police are investigating after a man was robbed early Tuesday near the Kaplan Arena parking lot on campus.

Police were notified around 1:15 a.m. about the robbery, which happened around midnight.

Two men — both about 6 feet tall with dark hair and wearing jeans — attacked the victim and stole his wallet, police said. One of the men was wearing a green sweatshirt, while the other was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt.

The victim was struck multiple times with hands and a stick, but no other weapons were displayed during the incident, police said.

The men ran away after the robbery, police said.

Students are urged to use caution and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. William & Mary Police have increased patrols in the area and are available for escorts on campus.
