Want a new cat or dog? Heritage Humane Society cutting adoption fees for Cinco de ‘Meow’

Heritage Humane Society is celebrating Cinco de “Meow” this weekend by making it easier for animals to find loving homes.

The adoption fees for all cats and dogs in Heritage’s care are being halved for Saturday, May 5 — or Cinco de Mayo — and Sunday, May 6, according to a press release.

Kitten season begins in the summer, and Heritage is already seeing an influx of cats.

“With kitten season knocking at our door, space is always a concern. And when space is a concern, lives are at risk,” says Kimberly Laska, executive director. “Our goal is to adopt out two dozen adult cats by the end of the weekend, to save even more lives.”

Laska added she hoped that by reducing the adoption fees, Heritage will be able to increase the number of animals they can connect with new homes.

Heritage Humane Society is located at 430 Waller Mill Road in Williamsburg.
