VIRGINIA BEACH — A motorcyclist was killed and others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 264 Wednesday night just east of Laskin Road.
The Virginia State Police, in a news release, said the crash happened at around 7:15 p.m.
Police said a white 2017 Suzuki motorcycle and a blue 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, were going at a “high rate of speed.”
The rider of the white motorcycle struck the back of a Honda Odyssey minivan, causing the driver to lose control and hit the Jersey wall.
Police said the white motorcycle then collided with the blue 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, ejecting the rider.
Both riders were taken to the hospital — one of the riders died shortly after being taken to the hospital, and the other remains in critical condition, state police said.
The occupants of the minivan were treated at the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, state police said.
The identities of those involved were not immediately released.
