Arrests made in connection with 2016 deadly shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK — Two men have been arrested in connection with a January 2016 shooting that left a man dead.

Raymond Martin, 34, of the 800 block of E. 27th Street, is charged with second degree murder, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Tremaine Martin, 37, of the 2300 block of Waverly Way, is charged with second degree murder, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Both men are held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Around 10:54 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2016, police were sent to a “gunshot disturbance” in the 2600 block of Waverly Way.

There, officers found Christopher Allen “suffering from a gunshot wound.”

He died shortly after being taken to the hospital, police said.

Allen, who lived in the 1100 block of Jernigan Avenue, was 27 years old.
