The Hampton Roads senior community is in for a special treat courtesy of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra will perform familiar classics and favorite popular tunes, from Beethoven Symphony No. 5 to West Side Story during special concerts on May 1, 2 and 29.
The first concert is on Tuesday at the Chesapeake Conference Center, followed by the second on Wednesday at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The final concert will take place on Tuesday, May 29 at Denbigh Community Center in Newport News, according to a news release from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
Chorus Master Robert Shoup will lead the audience and orchestra during the three-part series. Accommodations for wheelchairs, scooters and other assistive devices will be available.
The concert will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes, with no intermission, according to the release.
All of the concerts begin at 2 p.m. and tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance. Call 757-892-6366 for information.
