Tonight: See a movie under the stars at Chickahominy Riverfront Park

James City County Parks and Recreation will kick off its summer of movies under the stars with a showing of “Despicable Me 3.”

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Chickahominy Riverfront Park.

“Despicable Me 3” follows the adventures of supervillain Gru when he meets his long-lost, charming, cheerful — and more successful — twin brother Dru, who wants to team up for one last criminal heist.

It is rated PG.

Other movies planned this summer are “Coco” on May 25, “Moana” on Aug. 31 and “Sing!” on Sept. 28. All movies begin at 8:30 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks to enjoy.

Admission is free, but children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
