VIRGINIA BEACH — Even though it’s not always easy to find, everyone needs a little bit of encouragement.
In an effort to help women inspire and encourage each other, the Hampton Roads Women’s Empowerment event, scheduled for May 12 at the Westin in Virginia Beach, will bring together relevant topical speakers and provide networking opportunities for women from across Hampton Roads.
“The Hampton Roads Women’s Empowerment was formed with the purpose of inspiring and encouraging women of all races to bring out the best version of themselves,” said Joanna Pascua-Colasito, the group’s founder and host of the event. “This event is focused on hot topics that women want to learn about and know more of.”
The event focuses on areas surrounding women’s health, wealth, and overall self-being.
While not geared specifically for professional women, it is intended to ensure that every woman in attendance will leave motivated, inspired, and rejuvenated.
“It’s for women who want get after it in life. From entrepreneurs, career minded women, and the woman that leads her household, we welcome them all,” she added.
Topics will range from stroke awareness to overcoming grief, to improving self-beauty and overall life.
Pascus-Colasito will speak on the topic “A Man is Not a Financial Plan.”
“Too many women tear each other down instead of lifting each other up,” she said. “If we have influence, then we need to help another young girl, sister, or friend and lift them up. Encourage other women and help point the way to help them make a difference in the world.”
Vendors will also be set up and there will be door prizes and food.
