NORFOLK — Police late Tuesday arrested a woman they say was involved in the death of her 2-year-old child. The woman’s boyfriend also was jailed.
Shelby R. Love, 23, and 33-year-old John Tucker Hardee are charged with felony child abuse and neglect.
Love and Hardee are being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, Norfolk Fire and Rescue along with Norfolk Police responded to the 9600 block of 20th Bay in Ocean View for a 2-year-old that was unresponsive.
Police said the 2-year-old had burns on various parts of her body. She was taken by medics to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughter where she was pronounced dead.
No other information about the case was immediately released.
