NORFOLK — Norfolk Public Library announced the lineup for the third annual LGBT Film Festival at the Slover Library.
Hampton Roads Pride, the LGBT Life Center, Naro video, and PFLAG are partnering with the library in presenting a series of films to celebrate the event.
Eric Sean Bilby, the Support Services administrator for NPL, was the man who came up with the idea of an LGBT film festival as a way to create awareness and promote Norfolk Public Library’s collection of LGBT feature films, documentaries, and LGBT books that have been collected over the years.
“This is a fairly new event,” said Kelly Straub, public relations specialist for NPL. “We definitely strive for inclusiveness as that’s the purpose of public libraries.”
The film schedule is as follows:
- May 5, 1 p.m.: 52 Tuesdays rated (PG-13)
- May 5, 4 p.m.: Holding the Man (Unrated)
- May 6, 12:30 p.m.: Princess Cyd, (Unrated)
- May 6, 2:30 p.m.: Gods and Monsters (R)
Beverages and desserts will available during social hour, organizers said.
All films will be played on the sixth floor in room No. 640 at the Slover Library.
