NORFOLK — Police say a 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and arson in connection with the death of his wife.
Delano Grangruth is being held on those charges at Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Authorities said police and fire crews were sent Tuesday at 10:25 a.m. to the 6200 block of Wailes Avenue “after the smell of smoke was detected at a residence.”
Firefighters entered the home and found Grangruth’s 61-year-old wife Kathleen White-Grangruth dead.
Police did not release additional information about the case, citing an open investigation.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have information that would help in their investigation to call Norfolk Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
