NORFOLK — A 37-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash Friday afternoon.
Police identified the man as Derrick Lawson, who lived in 5900 block of Chesapeake Boulevard.
Authorities said police were called to the 3300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. for a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
There, they found Lawson lying on the road unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that Lawson was traveling in the 3300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard when he lost control of his motorcycle, left the roadway and struck a power pole.
