Beginning this summer, Riverside Health System is hosting certified nurse-aide training sessions.

The six-week course, beginning on June 4, will teach students how to provide basic care and to assist people with day-to-day activities.

Classes will be held Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Riverside College of Health Careers training campuses in Gloucester and Newport News. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.

Students will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Applications are due by April 27, according to a news release from Riverside Health System. Application forms and tuition information are on Riverside’s website.

Sign-on bonuses are available for qualified students and graduates may be eligible for up to $2,000 in incentive and retention awards, according to the release.
