If you’re hitting the road this weekend, weather and lane closures could affect your trip.

Full stoppages on the High Rise Bridge, previously scheduled for Saturday, have been canceled, due to the possibility of inclement weather; full stoppages on Sunday are still scheduled to proceed, according to a release from VDOT.

These stoppages will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Before the stoppages, there will be a slowdown of vehicles that could last as long as 20 minutes.

Starting on Sunday, on I-64 east and west from the Colonial Parkway to Lee Hall, there will be alternating lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In addition, I-64 will have the following ramp closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Sunday:

  • I-64 east and west to Route 199 west at exit 242B and 242A
  • I-64 west to Route 143, exit 243B
  • Route 199 west on-ramp to I-64 east and west
  • Route 199 east on-ramp to I-64 east and west
  • I-64 east and west from one mile east of Route 199, Lightfoot exit 234, to Colonial Parkway.

There will also be lane closures under flagger control on Yorktown Road, Penniman Road and Jefferson Avenue at the I-64 overpasses from 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

There will be detour signs for these lane closures.
