Residents without power can expect to have the lights back on by Sunday evening.
Dominion Energy sent out a notice Saturday afternoon letting residents know that nearly 80 percent of the more than 690,000 Virginia customers that lost service from the windstorm is back up and running. Officials say with additional crew reinforcements now on the ground, it will have a vast majority of customers restored by Sunday evening.
Here is a breakdown of final restoration times in the Greater Williamsburg Area:
- York County-restoration to be completed by 11 pm Sunday
- James City County-restoration to be completed by 11 pm Sunday
Everyone is advised to beware of any lines that may have fallen or come into contact with trees, debris, or water. Stay at least 30 feet away from any downed power line and make sure your family, pets, and neighbors also avoid the downed wire.
