Update 6:20 p.m. Thursday: Bruhwel turned herself in the to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail Thursday at 5:30 p.m., according to Williamsburg Police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley.
“The Williamsburg Police would like to thank the public for its assistance during the investigation and with the locating and apprehension of Ms. Bruhwel,” Riley said.
Update 9 a.m. Wednesday: Police have obtained arrest warrants for Rebecca “Ginger” Bruhwel, of Newport News, according to Williamsburg Police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley.
Bruhwel has been charged with driving while suspended and felony hit and run.
The warrants had not been served as of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Riley said.

Williamsburg Police are looking for a woman who is wanted for questioning in connection with a car crash that seriously injured a passenger.
Police have asked for public assistance in finding Rebecca “Ginger” Bruhwel, according to a Williamsburg Police Department Facebook post.
Police believe Bruhwell may have been involved in a single-vehicle crash on Monticello Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley. The crash occurred between Compton Drive and Ironbound Road.
After the crash, the driver fled the scene, leaving behind an injured passenger, Riley said. Witnesses described her as a white female.
First responders extricated the male passenger, from the vehicle and flew him to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond.
