VIRGINIA BEACH — Additional charges have been filed against four men accused in a shooting that killed two people in a Virginia Beach home.
Police believe an argument inside the home in the 1400 block of Gate Tree Court led to the Jan. 8 shooting, which killed 28-year-old Michael Allen Cain and 22-year-old Matthew Dillon Jyrkinen, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
When police responded to the home around 5 p.m. they also found a woman there suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to the VBPD.
Police announced on Jan. 17 that Dale Edward Gauvin, 22, Steven Larry Gray, 35, Malkim Shamarr Hart, 29 and Justin Travis Rigby, 33, were charged with various crimes in connection to the shooting.
They are all charged with robbery, conspiracy, two counts of using a gun in the commission of a felony and aggravated malicious wounding. They are being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
On Thursday, police announced that additional charges had been filed against the men.
Hart is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of using a gun in the commission of a felony.
Gauvin, Gray and Rigby have all been charged with two counts of second-degree felony homicide and two counts of use of a gun in the commission of a felony.
A person charged with felony homicide is accused of murdering a person while committing another felony like robbery or rape, said Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney spokeswoman Macie Allen.
