York County, WJCC schools close Wednesday due to impending snow

With one to two inches of snow predicted for Wednesday, area schools are preparing by canceling classes and activities for the day.

York County

All York County schools and offices will be closed Wednesday. All practices and other activities are also canceled.

Essential personnel should report as directed by their supervisor, according to a school division tweet.

Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools will close Wednesday due to snow expected to start during the day.

“Since snow is forecast to arrive during the school day, we made this closure decision based on student and staff safety,” school spokeswoman Betsy Overkamp-Smith said.
