Investigators seek woman who cashed stolen check at Williamsburg credit union

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is looking for a woman who cashed a check that was stolen out of a vehicle at the Goddard School.

On Dec. 12, an unknown person broke the window of a locked vehicle parked at the Goddard School, located in the 400 block of Hampton Highway in York County, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The person stole several checks, one of which was cashed later at the 1st Advantage Federal Credit Union in Williamsburg, the post said.

The sheriff’s office has released photos of the woman they believe cashed the check.

Surveillance shows a younger woman with a short, blonde haircut driving a newer-model, white Chevrolet Impala.

The owner of the stolen checks is also the victim of a vehicle larceny in Newport News, the post said.
